Online physics tutoring for SPH3U and SPH4U

Choose the physics course and topic

SPH3U Grade 11 Physics develops motion, forces, energy, waves, electricity, and magnetism. SPH4U Grade 12 Physics extends mechanics into momentum, fields, wave optics, and modern physics. Open the course map and a published lesson before requesting a tutor so you can point to the exact concept that needs work.

For example, a motion-graph question may require the slope of position versus time, while an energy question needs a defined system and an initial/final energy account. The same formula is not useful for every physics problem.

Work through diagrams, units, and assumptions

Bring the complete problem statement and any diagram. Before calculating, label known and unknown quantities, choose a sign convention, and draw a free-body diagram when forces matter. A tutor can ask you to identify which forces act on the object, help distinguish a force from a component, and check the units of the final result.

For a constant 3 m/s velocity over 4 s, displacement is 12 m: it is the area under a velocity–time graph, not its slope. The slope there would be acceleration, 0 m/s². Explaining which graph feature gives the answer is more valuable than memorizing 12.

Ask for a live explanation or study independently first

Read the SPH3U motion-graphs lesson or browse the Ontario physics study path before your session. When asking for help, state where your attempt diverges from the method. A matching tutor can explain the concept, watch you apply it to a second problem, and correct your reasoning rather than simply supply an answer.

A free introductory session when eligible

Request one 30-minute human-tutor introduction at CA$0, with no credit card, payment, or obligation to continue. Select physics, your language, and possible times in the form. Your request is sent to approved tutors who teach the selected subject; the appointment is confirmed only after a tutor accepts.
